Just One More

I have not been posting lately because every week, my schedule is booked and I can no longer find the time to focus on the fun stuff. Not that I'm not having fun.. But I guess I just miss being bored. Hihi. That can be fun, right?

So. This week and the previous one before this was apocalypse period. Two straight weeks of pure madness. Orgs and other outside stuff, included. Hmm. I'm itching for it to be October already so The Dream can be realized. Hehe. Srsly. But I am a person who lives for the day and so I can't just lull through the time waiting for the big tour date.

Check out my essay, if you please.

Just so you know, I was listening to John Mayer, Jack Johnson and Pablo Neruda poetry readings while doing this. So I guess you can see where my inspiration evidently comes from. :)

Speaking of stressful days past and ahead, I NEED THESE.

Chocolate Mud Mask. Mmmmmm... Smells great and it feels good. I'm not exactly sure what it's for as long as it feels gewwwwd. Nom nom. Can't lick it though.

Oh, Noriter! We meet again! :3 I missed your heavenly orgasmic (whut haha) Oreo cheesecake!! Sigh. It's been too long. Till the next one! :)

Sooo. What else is new? I'm busy!! And.. I can't wait for October and December. My God, I simply JUST cannot stress that enough myself for the life of me.

ONE MORE EXAM. Oh, wait.. TWO actually.. TWO MORE EXAMS TILL ALL OF THIS IS OVER. For this week, at least. Daaaamn </3 Well technically I won't be taking the other one.. Did I mention? I'm proctoring on Sunday for the USTET. Woohoo! >:)

What I might be wearing + strappy heels:

Uhmm. We don't have a decent full-body mirror at GT. Haha.

And for my final bit of news.

Yesterday, I decided that I want to learn how to play the drums. My brother has a friend who can teach me. Yay! I hope I can get started ASAP :D And hopefully, I'll find the time to learn.

OMG It's Friday

5:30AM. I do NOT miss waking up this early :|

So, today was pretty crazy. Everything was so hectic and there were a lot of activities. At least I got to wear civilian clothes during class. Yeah, so bad ass :))

Anyway, UST's Behavioral Science Society from the Faculty of Arts and Letters had a team building for the freshmen entitled "BEStified". They told me to be a facilitator for the event. ASDFGHJKL. Long story which I don't really feel like relaying for now. Bottom line is: extemporaneous facilitation. It wasn't that hard but let's just say I was a little.. underexposed to facilitating for team building activities. Yadigg? So sue me.

I have to say.. I was pretty impressed with the output shown today by the BES babies. It was an incredible experience; to be a part of their team building and to hear what they have to say about batch unity and such. It literally brought tears to my eyes. Ugh. Yes, roll your eyes all you want because I sound so melodramatic but really, if you heard their speeches and seen for yourself how united they were as a group.. I think.. yeah. :')

It's a little tearjearking to know that I was also once a freshman and, in a few years.. Sigh. And that I went through what they did, too. And that I'm going to miss it all when I leave. Sentimental noh? That's how it is when you get attached :')

It's a damn shame we weren't able to record their speeches about batch solidarity. I could even see in the other marshalls' and facilitators' reactions that they were impressed. It started at 8:00AM and ended at around 2:30PM.Thank God it was a success! :D Pictures will have to wait because I didn't take any! Haha. I'll just grab and go.

So! After the team building, I headed straight to the Ed Tech center in the library for my TOMCAT interview. It was pretty quick, thankfully, because I had a class at 3PM. I felt a little panicked because, other than the fact that I was running like a madman from TYK to the library to the AB building, I didn't study at all for my Spanish quiz. Sigh :( Bad move!

Spanish class until 9PM. Oh, and Naomi stayed at GT until her parents were done watching something at Resorts World, I think? Girly bonding. Hihi :3

That's my Happy Friday :)

P.S. Just added pictures today. Haha. (July 25)

I love being BUSY

..but I am NOT a workaholic. Or at least, I think so. :)

So. Good morning! I had a scary dream, a weird one and a lovely vivid one. I woke up with a smile wider than the Cheshire cat's. Teehee.

Not exactly the Cheshire, but still a cat, right?

SCARY DREAM: My usually quiet and timid blockmate (yes, in real life) was throwing her yosi (but she doesn't really smoke haha) ashes at me and bullying me around. I got up and BEAT the living daylights outta her. As in I really beat her to a pulp. Everyone else was just watching and staring and not caring about what was going on. Then suddenly, one of my previous professors (didn't like him/her very much) came in and intervened. He was telling both of us off because we were both at fault here; me more than her though. He then proceeded to tell me that I didn't act like a lady (F if I care) and that I was in danger of expulsion and never finding a job and never having my dreams come true. Wow, deep. Haha. Moving on..

WEIRD DREAM: I was hanging out in the rooftop deck of my condo. But!! Before that, I rode on an elevator that was lightning fast. Hehe. Anyway, It was raining. After a few minutes or so, IT WAS FLOODED. As in the condo (well except for the top floors and the rooftop deck) was submerged. Uhm. Weird? Scary? Damn. Pero it didn't seem like much of a big deal because everyone I knew was hanging out at the rooftop deck. Haha. I think there was a party going on.

LOVELY DREM: WARNING! This is pretty mindless and superficial. Well, don't say I didn't warn you. So. I had a dream about my crush from another college in UST. I think it was because my friends and I hung out at Starbucks last night then I wrote his name on a napkin to show to my friend because I didn't want to say his name out loud in public, especially in a place were he MIGHT frequent, or have friends who are there. What have you. On to the dream! We had a date, and it was lovely. I don't wanna go into specifics here because it would give everything away. Nah. So I'll just leave you with this:

"alam mo yung tipong you had such a vivid dream, it seemed so real that you didn't wanna wake up? wow. good morning indeed :>"

Sigh.

I'm back to reality now though, and my conscious mind tells me there's much to be done today. Lezzdoodizz. Oh and yeah, THANK YOU FOR THE MADDENING INSPIRATION! Haha <3

Chicken noodles with egg for breakfast.

I wanna be the girl from Ipanema

Tall and tan and young and lovely, the girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes, each one she passes goes "ahhh.."

Because I swear it's on loop in my WMP and inside my head. I have now downloaded it, courtesy of Kuya Carlos. Yaaaay!!

Anyway, I kinda.. uhh, slept on the floor and woke up at 3:30AM. Damn. After which I started working on my online account layouts. Check out Pixlr O-matic, you will love it. Vintage and all [photo editing] things lovely. Hihi.

Without further adieu..

So much fun to use because the effects look pretty :) Time is now 5:02AM. I'll be leaving in about oh I don't know.. 2 hours? Thank God I don't have classes today. Although, I won't be able to make it to UST's Freshmen Walk. Sigh. Lunch and gala at Greenbelt Makati later. See you there.

Have a good one, everybody :D

June 21, 2011

Meanwhile..

Hello everyone. I don't know what I've been doing lately because it's all been a stressful surreal blur. On a happy note though, mommy's here! :D

Yay! Hihi. Plus, this week, I only have classes on Wednesday and Saturday. Why is it that I find I've been repeating that an awful lot lately?

Anyway.. My to-do list has gone haywire, I don't know. Which reminds me, I have to fix my USB files. Oh, and I'm planning to buy an iTouch, half with my money and half with mom's. And after I've saved up for a few months, I'll buy a Lumix DMC LX5 or any other compact digital camera that has the functions of an DSLR.

I just simply can NOT go on my tour without a camera in hand.

Hey, you're online and reading this anyway so why don't you check out my sister's blog? :) I designed it myself! :) Go now.

Meanwhile, today is going to be a long day. I have to stay here and study for World Literature and Experimental Psych while my mom and sister are going to Mapua. After, Rob Manila. I need to brush up on my lists.

Apparently, my head is a mess right now.

Magbigay Pugay

Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan! :)

Dr. José Protasio Rizal Mercado y Alonzo Realonda

The name that ignited nationalistic sense through pen and intellect.
113 years of Philippine IndePENdence.

113 Reasons I'm proud to be Pinoy! Click niyo. Sobrang saya lang talaga basahin :D

Tapos.. dahil gusto magshare..

The late national hero Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr., wrote this poem for his wife, former president Corazon C. Aquino, decades ago. Composer and singer Jose Mari Chan later set the piece into music and included it in his album, Constant Change.

I have fallen in love
with the same woman three times;
In a day spanning 19 years
of tearful joys and joyful tears.

I loved her first when she was young,
enchanting and vibrant, eternally new.
She was brilliant, fragrant,
and cool as the morning dew.

I fell in love with her the second time;
when first she bore her child and mine
always by my side, the source of my strength,
helping to turn the tide.

But there were candles to burn
the world was my concern;
while our home was her domain.
and the people were mine
while the children were hers to maintain;

So it was in those eighteen years and a day.
’till I was detained; forced in prison to stay.

Suddenly she’s our sole support;
source of comfort,
our wellspring of Hope.
on her shoulders felt the burden of Life.

I fell in love again,
with the same woman the third time.
Looming from the battle,
her courage will never fade

Amidst the hardships she has remained,
undaunted and unafraid.
she is calm and composed,
she is God’s lovely maid.

One Love

Aside from the fact that he looks cool, his music rocks my socks. It speaks to me, and to everyone else who listens to him for that matter. The Late Great Bob Marley, everybody! :D Anyway, had to ramble about this because of the title and the meat of this post.

Let's get together and feel alright.

I just found out about this on Twitter, through @katyperry's retweet. Hihi. Click on the photo to go to the link. I feel inspired! She's cancer-stricken, she's young and she has her own Bucket List which she posted online. I keep procrastinating about that. Tsk tsk.

Know her story and read her blog :D Let us support! One love :D

Her name is Mary. She has delayed schooling.

The people at DEOS are helping her achieve her education. Last Tuesday, I had the privilege of  tutoring her simple letters and numbers, though she prefers learning the alphabet. They say she's improving every time she's being taught. Yay! :D

The materials given to me to use. Next time, we'll probably get to use number flash cards. The program I'm volunteering for, by the way, is called "English and Math Lab". So yeah, you probably get the gist of what I'm teaching. Hihi.

Phew. Oh yeahhh! Yesterday, my sister and I toured The Village. Ohmygod, the place was amazing! Photos photos photos everywhere :D After that, we saw X-Men First Class. I F loved the movie! Super fun to watch and the characters were just incredible. A lot of talent and awesomesauce going on. Weeee! :D

Oh. Did I mention? I went crazy in ATC yesterday. Damn, I bought a military jacket from People are People and concealer from The Body Shop. Wenk wenk wenk. There goes my allowance and it's not even almost the end of the month yet. Haha.

No photos yet so maybe next time Have to watch this movie and then "get ready" for class later. Big whoop. Au revior! :)

Reader's Digest May 2011 issue! Everytime I go to National Bookstore, I have to get one. I mean, when I have money of course. I haven't read it yet because my nose is still stuck on my books. I am currently reading "Haroun and the Sea of Stories" by Salman Rushdie as we speak. Pretty good so far. I still have Mel's books to dig in to. Bookworm Heaven, indeed :D

Another item which I have WAY too much of are notebooks. I buy even when I don't them. I hate this. It's a disease of the pretty. The eye-catcher syndrome. The notebooks, I mean. I bought four more!! I have another post for that. Maybe some other time. I'm thinking of selling them. It's not like I can use them all simultaneously :|

There you have it. Dreading this Saturday. Ugh. I don't know what to expect. Huuu. Can't wait for Friday's movie day at ATC + gig at Saguijo. Weeeeee :D

Last few days before summer! Lunch for the time being.

Last Thursday

Can I tell you about last Thursday?

Home > Norwegian Embassy > Greenpeace PH Office (Tomas Morato) > Powerbooks (Greenbelt)

I just felt like adding the above photo because I love the architecture in Makati. The bulidings all look cool. Last Thursday was one of the most exhausting days of my life. With only 4 hours of sleep, minimal breakfast and a full day ahead of commuting from north to south.. I think you get the picture.

We went to the Royal Embassy of Norway in Makati for lolo's visa application. Yay. Things are looking up. We'll just wait after about 10-12 working days.

In the interview area, they said we couldn't use our cellphones, had to turn them off. Okay, I am not totally at fault here because I saw the sign AFTER I turned on my phone. I did it to take a snapshot of this lady's shoes. I love!

Well.. that's done. Let's head down to the ground floor now. Click on the photo for a better view. Such a curious thing if you ask me.

HUG. Cute, huh?
After the embassy, Philippine Columbian Association for lunch then I get dropped off at UST then I head over to the Tomas Morato area for my Greenpeace orientation. After all that, Greenbelt for my Hands on Manila orientation.

Happy to say I am now a volunteer! Yay :D I haven't started working on anything yet. But I will.. soon. For now, I'm kinda grounded because I snuck out last Saturday. Hihi.

I WANT AN IPOD TOUCH OR AN IPOD CLASSIC. I'll be saving up for two months to get either one. Hopefully, that mission won't prove to be futile. In other news, enrollment tomorrow! Yay, friends! :D Annnnnnnd. We've been having gloomy weather these past few days. Just the way I like it. Also, bought school supplies last Saturday morning. Yes morning; because people get crowded and crazy in the afternoon. I bought more books than school supplies. Srsly. Pending a post about that. Hihi

I'm done ranting. More to come. Follow blog with caution. Au revior! Have a good one, everybody :)

Ms. Nobody

Michelle Maglasang. Student. Blogger. Curious.

Why the title? When I was in Grade 5, we discussed a poem entitled "Mr. Nobody". It was a part of the unit that focused on curiousity, adventure, and little children. You know how kids can be. Inquisitive minds and adventurous spirits. I should know hihi.

Anyway, the poem was about this young boy who wreaks havoc in the house where he lives which drives his family crazy. It's entitled "Mr. Nobody" because they don't know who's been making a mess in the household. Or something to that effect.

Yes I remember stuff like that.

Throughout the entire discussion on this particular unit, my then English teacher kept pointing out what a rascal my older brother was (same teacher). Yeah, he was, as she kept pointing out, "too adventurous", like a kid. If only she knew how I much I was too.

I like to think of myself as Ms. Nobody because I too, am adventurous. I am still very much like a kid (look like one too, as many people like to point out).

Anyway, I like experimenting (no, not that kind), learning new things, meeting people. Wala lang. Just felt like saying so :>

Day 26

Things you like and dislike about yourself:

Like: Hmm. I love myself. That's all I have to say about that.

Whirlwind

I'm happy to be far from bored. Although, I am not saved from the blistering tropical heat (who is?). Since Fashion Week, I've been.. around. Haha.

I am now a volunteer for Kythe! I haven't started on my volunteer duties yet because the affiliated hospitals are all up north in Quezon City :( I will start when school does. Luckily for me, USTH is a Kythe-affiliated hospital. Yehey! :D

During my NSTP days.

Last Wednesday (18th), me, JJ and Ate Yanyan along with her DLSU friends went to EK! Some of my blockmates, Stella, Luisa, Joshua, Lara and Donna (balikbayan from Canada!) were also there. Awesome.

I conquered the Space Shuttle. Booyah. I wasn't able to go karting because damn it, it rained and they won't allow it. Huhu. I borrowed books from Mel. I'm so happy to have a fresh new stack of reads again. Three cheers for nerd-om.

Photos!! :D

LOL. awkward photo.

Can you see the cane? Hehe. Borrowed it from this 50's dude.

Friday (@ Rescue) and Saturday (Kam's 18th) nights were all rounds of drinking with my beloved HS batchmates. I finally saw a movie! Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides. I also had a photo op with some cosplayers dressed as, what else, PIRATES. I wore the pirate lady's hat too (in another photo). Hihi.

SO. That's what I've been up to. Well, mostly. Still working on Asahi's despedida video. It pains me to think he'll be jetting off this Thursday. Sigh. I need to finish it by tonight. Should be fun. I have a lot more to look forward to and a lot more to get done. Hopefully, matuloy si lolo sa trip niya on June. And it rests upon my ever "capable" hands.. Lezzdoodizz.
C'est la vie.

I love school. If only I wasn't so lazy half the time. HAHAHA. Good news, I haven't failed any of my subjects. Bad? Uhm. I should try harder next time. Hihi. Good luck to everyone! The academic year looms ever so closer. Waaah. Happy days are here again.

ATTIRE: Fashionably Chic

Last May 14 2011, I attended the Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2011 Spring Collection show! *applause*

I saw it with JP and two of his Beda friends, Cheska and Daniel. I got to score invites because my good friend, JP is the son of one of the designers, JunJun Cambe. As usual, I was a loser who didn't bring a decent camera and had to rely on her cellphone to take shots.

This year's show was so much fun to watch. Last year, I only got to see two designers' collections. Also, this year, they implemented some drama to the runway models' walks AND with matching music to suit the style of each designer. I mean wow, they even featured music from Moulin Rouge!! :) (WHAAAT)

Emily Sy. ETHEREAL.
The models looked like fairies because they were all wearing fairy dresses! :D I absolutely adored her collection. From the cocktails to the floor sweeping gowns, it was all magic.

Joyce Pilarsky. FRESH.
Started and ended with a bang. Ohh, wow. I would buy her entire collection if I could. It was all swish, sashay, swish, swish :D It does remind me of Moulin Rouge.

JunJun Cambe. FIERCE.
As in literally, FIERCE. Haha. His style was sort of tribal this year. I love love loved the models' hair!! Teased to perfection. :D Amazonians invaded the runway like woah.

Michelle Lim. COLORFUL.
When the models entered the runway in a sort of triangular position, instant splash of color. They collectively looked like a rainbow, no joke. Everything was so bright and bubbly :D

We got freebies this year! (Well, sort of) The official programme plus some fliers that entitle you to discounts in select boutiques and stores. Yay! Better than nothing, right?

This was what I wore:

And this is my "artistic" (yeah right) imitation of it:

I hope I get to see the next one again :D I am sooo wearing heels next time because I easily get lost in the crowd with this petite frame.

Anyway, hung out with my younger sister, Barbs (her friend) and JP back at our condo. We went to the rooftop deck and the pool area! :D Fun day. Exhausting. But very fun nonetheless. :)
